Catch the show Wednesday night, February 8--Larry visits Dragonman's, the local outdoor shooting range. Mel, the Dragonman, is a colorful character. He has quite the little operation going east of town--besides the shooting ranges, he has a paintball range, motocross track, and builds Harley engines. He also has a cool military museum onsite. Mel's a hoot if you can catch him when he's not busy. Dragon's is where I usually go to shoot rifles outdoors. They're a class 3 dealer, and have a full auto shoot each September.

If you watch the show, you might have seen Larry visit the big cat refuge near Calhan, CO, a week or two ago. I assume he visited Dragon's while in the area.

Here's more on the episode, called American Guns:
http://www.history.com/shows/only-in-am ... -2#slide-2Larry heads to the deep Ozark woods to see how squirrel hunting created the original American sharpshooters. Then Larry faces a steep challenge: training to stalk and shoot with the US Army's elite snipers at their training center in Fort Benning, GA. Finally, he heads to Colorado to meet "the most armed man in America."

If you didn't catch it, they usually run last week's show the next week... it was fun IMO, Mel showed off some of the stuff in his museum, including a lot of Nazi things--Mel made a point to mention that he's jewish, just so nobody gets the wrong idea. They then took Larry out to the range, and everybody played with all sorts of full auto toys, even a few flamethrowers. It might have been a bit silly at times, but all in good fun. If you're ever in the Colorado Springs area, it's worth a visit just to see the military museum.

My primary impression is that Larry need to calm the hell down and pay more attention to where the muzzle of the weapon he's carrying is pointing when there's a loud noise in his vicinity.
If he pulled that shit on several ranges of my acquaintance, he would have been ejected, TV show or no, probably with a set of boot prints on his rear.
PS: Don't give a shit that's "just a TV show" or that it "was all for comic effect".

...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Sure, Rumpshot, give me a holler. Springtime is when winter usually shows up here, so I can't promise if conditions would be conducive to shooting outdoors. If it's good, I can take you to Dragonman's. If not, I can take you to the indoor range.
And Randy, ditto on that--in the opening sequence of the show, Larry managed to muzzle sweep the guy behind the counter in sixty seconds or less.
