Asus can blow me

I tried to build a gaming rig to replace the one that got burgled. The Asus Maximus VI Hero motherboard absolutely refuses to see any DDR3 I put in it, and I've triple-checked it against the compatibility list. Throws out 55 every time. Better call tech support on the off-chance I don't have to RMA this garbage and spend another weekend bored out of my skull, burning gas while I try to find something to do, right?

ASUS tech support barely exists. You get to listen to a recording all about how awesome ASUS is until THEIR COMPUTER gets tired of you being on hold and makes you record a voicemail. This is the third time I've called today. No response, always to voicemail.

1) This is a line for tech support. This is a number people call when they cannot get YOUR product to function. You need to be kissing my ass, not your own.
2) I decide when I'm tired of being on hold, not you.
3) I've got other things to do with my life. So what, I'm supposed to sit in this hovel with a broke dick motherboard until YOU decide to get to me?

I'd say I'd never buy an Asus product again but they're inescapable at this point.

I don't know about blowing you, but at least they could give you the courtesy of a reach-around.

immediately return a motherboard if it so much as squeaks at you sideways. If one thing is glitchy then the whole thing is shit.

Got through on my 4th attempt. Did some tinkering. Basically, it all came down to the PC equivalent of a spec's fix that pilots hate:

Reseated CPU. Ops check good

Well, then, I wonder if something like that could be causing my problem with my Gigabyte mobo. I bought it to replace my "glitchy" MSI board, but have never gotten the Giga board to boot. I finally said screw it, and reinstalled the MSI board. If I keep MSI's "Control Center" from loading, it works just fine. Anybody want to buy a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 board, cheap? I would RMA it, but was shuffled off to Tulsa for work for ten days, and missed the deadline.

ETA: "MSI's," Control Center, for clarity.

The company that went bankrupt recently? (Probably from the expense of warranty replacements.) That got their start by selling fraudulently remarked products? (Some of us remember those kinds of things for a VERY long time.)

Yeah, people should have known not to buy anything with 'OCZ' on it for some time.
