Freenet

Post by bubblewhip »

Hey considering recent events, I've been playing around with an application called "freenet" which is a way to share information over the internet in an anonymous fashion. It's relatively secure from prying eyes with strangers as (to my understanding) it takes files like say "private.txt" and uploads them to dozens of computers that are around the network in an encrypted fashion, broken up into chunks. So private.txt is broken up into say 12 chunks that those 12 chunks are received from different sources all over the world and resembled on your client end.

This is however a lot more secure if you have a trusted circle of friends who are able to run access nodes that you fully trust, as "theoretically" someone controlling all 12 nodes can tell what you are doing by what information is being sent out.

Considering whats been happening lately and those Defcad designs that were taken off the website, I highly recommend you look into Freenet.
