Silent circle/private conversations

AKA, "I'm so tired of living in a Socialist country..."

Is anyone familiar with Silent Circle?. I'm not up to anything nefarious, but I don't like the idea of having my personal calls monitored without warrants, emails scanned for advertising purposes, etc.

Essentially, I'd like to be able to communicate as privately as I can in a written letter.

And, if it does work, and I can figure out how, I'd like a device without a GPS chip, so that I cannot be tracked - at least not without a warrant.

And, while I'm dreaming, an anonymous debut card which can handle a decent amount of cash... I'm getting tired of having to carry "papers" at all times...

Many of those cards have alot of ripoff fees - like 5 bucks a month for "maintenance". Some charge you to use them at a teller, or to load money onto them.

Frankly, the reason why you see so many of them, is because after the recent hammering the credit business got with regulations, prepaid cards largely slipped through the cracks.

My first question would be if there was any sort of back door in their encryption schemes that would allow someone to monitor a call etc. Especially with a commercial venture.

IOW how much do you trust the vendor?
