Java now a no-no?

Our friendly goverment says we shouldn't use Java due to security problems.

Been that way for a decade, no new news. Too bad that 90% of military sites are java enabled and required for mission completion.

HERE they are saying this is a new threat.

Kinda makes me wonder is this is more serious or people just want to engage in a bit of Oracle bashing. :roll: :? :lol:

Firefox automatically disabled it for me but now my bank's website is saying I am using an unsupported browser...

Royal Navy attack subs use Windows on their computers, which really doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling...

And as for the tactical risks of having to come to periscope depth every two hours to download the latest security update... :lol:

Got news for some Linux users. Some distros use Java, some don't. I think Mint does, and that makes me suspect that Ubuntu and its spinoffs do also.

The US Navy uses Windows on all of their ships so far as I know.
