What's the hot thing in graphics tablets? I'm trying to convince the bosses at work that one might come in handy in our department, for doing jobs in CorelDraw and such. I have a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, which has a wireless mouse and stylus. It's several years old, and frankly, I find it clunky, a pain in the butt to use. Doing a quick look on the web, it looks like technology has changed to that used with iPads, smart phones and such, with touch sensitive tops. Anyone able to clue me in? Thanks!

ETA: Oh, and something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Well... getting management to cough up $500 or $1,000 is like pulling teeth. They seem happy to spend a million on something they think up, though. Thanks for your suggestions, Chris, I'll look into them.

I have one of the Intuos tablets. I like it, it's a great Landscape Architect tool, but every great now and again the damned stylus holder ends up on the tablet, overides the mouse, and your cursor won't freakin move to save your life. After a few minutes wondering what could possibly be causing this, you see the stylus standing up on the "writing" area.

I've been using the 4x5 Wacoms since the ArtPad III (iirc) and primarily use them when i need to 'paint' something like textures. When doing vector drawing or 3d modelling i usually prefer the precision of a mouse- because i'm trying to do something precise.
