Where to get Vista Business 64 bit disk?

Post by Dub_James »

I picked up a copy of Vista Business cheap at a company auction today. Of course, Microsoft only supplied the 32 bit version, you had to go online to get a 64 bit disk sent, which uses the same Product Key. Seems like they don't have that available any more.

I've tried E-Bay and done some general looking around, but no luck so far. Anyone know where I'd get the 64 bit version disk? Don't need the code, the one I have is valid and legit (package was never opened).

If you are SURE the key is valid for both, just download an ISO from your favorite software site, you dont need the physical disk...

It's the real deal, alright. Sealed clear plastic flip out box, disk, key, Getting Started and 64bit disk URL flyer inside. Think they bought them as evaluation copies a few years back and never used them.

Finally a version that actually works. Between versions that had file errors, and those that just wouldn't boot, eventually got one that works properly. My backup machine is now up and running (and backing up) on 64 bit Vista.

Thanks!

Even paying $20 is too much, when for $100 (or considerably less) you can have a full version of Win7.
I'll likely update all 3 machines with the Win 7 family pack eventually, and the "usability" of Vista isn't an issue since the machine will be left to its own devices for the most part (I VNC into it typically, if it's not backed up for a few days). I'll be performing a hardware/OS upgrade cycle in the coming year, so knowing my current backup hardware setup will run a 64bit OS is useful, and means it'll be ready to use the 6GB in my personal machine once I push that hardware down.

So far so good, but I'll keep a look out for that, thanks.

I find it odd but I did a Vista to 7 upgrade (format-reinstall) on my son's machine last night... I could not believe how much better it ran after I got done!

I don't doubt it :) Vista seems to have been to the NT system what Windows ME was to 95/98! In other words, "Why God, why?!?!?" :)

I'd never even used the newer style Desktop until now, so it's interesting to see the differences. Vista's behaving itself so far, so we'll see how it goes.
