AEX isn't exactly small physically, having a 9300 ft runway, but I know what you mean. Twin turboprops and regional jets are the only passenger planes.mekender wrote:Yes it is, I am hoping that they extend it a bit but with such a small airport, the number of flights are limited.

So, I just got back home... I think it went VERY well. I found out that I was the only one that has been or was planned to be flown down, so that bodes well I think. With a bit of luck, I will have an offer here soon.Termite wrote:So, does this mean working on Allen-Bradly, etc?mekender wrote:I think that they really knew I was on the same page as them when I asked them if I was correct in my understanding that this place was not a place where wearing a necktie was allowed due to safety reasons.
As for the Allen-Bradley stuff, my responsibility would not be the actual PLCs themselves, they have engineers that deal with those. But with the use of their interface and monitoring suite to both deal with the HMI portion of it and the data gathering that is used to make business decisions. They already have the systems in place in their 3 LA facilities, my responsibility would be to port them over to the two up here. So rudimentary editing and playing with existing code, not creating it from scratch.

Sorry that we couldn't meet for lunch, but looks like your schedule was obscenely tight.mekender wrote:So, I just got back home... I think it went VERY well. I spent the morning repairing toilet plumbing, then the afternoon sanding & painting the composite spring gear for my plane.

Well, if this comes through, I will be back down there for a minimum of 2 weeks.Termite wrote:Sorry that we couldn't meet for lunch, but looks like your schedule was obscenely tight.

So things are looking good... I sent a text to the manager thanking him for the hospitality and letting him know I made it home safe and sound and his reply was "My pleasure. I have communicated positive reviews to HR. Enjoy your weekend!"

Any chance you'll wind up at HQ in Florien? If so, I hope you like hunting, fishing , and 4-wheeler riding, cause that's the main entertainment in a parish(county) with a total population under 26,000. On the positive side, $150K builds a nice house on 2-3 acres.
