I already mentioned the plan you want to use. Come on in, the water's fine. Just remember, if you get an Android phone you're also going to need a throwaway Google account.
Yes, TMobile right now is desperate for customers. Take advantage.

Droid X crapped out on me today. Under warranty so they are sending me a new one tomorrow. I'll give that to my foreman.
Picked up a Droid Bionic because I got tired of waiting for the much ballyhooed Samsung Nexus to finally come out. And I've been reading of a few issues it's having in Europe. Rep from Samsung was in Verizon and whispered under his breath to me the Nexus will be in Verizon stores next week for $299. I decided to head to Best Buy and get the Bionic for $149. I have 30 days to see if I like it.
Groove IP works. (But is very sensitive to network latency.) That is all.
Edit: OK, I'll tell the rest of it, it's moderately amusing.
I'm at work today. I work in a largish building. It and its grounds occupy all of a rectangular block in a certain Bergen county town that you have all heard of. Having sorted out the problem of the missing DL380, I took a break to test my network connectivity (new smartphone, never used Tmobile before, etc). Seems there are 2 nearby towers, one about 2 blocks north and a little west, one about 2 blocks south and a little east.
At my desk, I get 4 bars of 2G. EDGE, grrr. Where's my 3+ faux G? So I do some testing. There are 2 men's rooms on this level. They each get usable 4G signals, from different towers- one is close enough to the south edge of the building, the other to the west. There's a small reading/study lounge that's available to everyone- in that room I got my best speedtest reading ever (~8Mbit down, 2Mb up, 60ms pings) for this phone. The cafeteria has 2 seating areas, a large one with big west-facing windows and a small one with big south-facing windows. Brilliant. So I work in a good service area, and even have fast data inside the building, just not where I SIT.
Groove IP's VOIP calling works great over HSPA+, but sucks pretty bad on EDGE.
