Wait, if I'm in East LA, does that mean I get to read my call sign with a Cheech Marin impersonation?

(And you know I'm just messing with you, right?)
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Well, gentlemen, I am now the proud owner of a ham radio!
:D

Chris accepted my offer on the vx5r, and it's now in my hot little hands!

I'd like to publicly thank you, Chris, for first making the offer, for working with my budget, and finally for sending this out in the middle of a truly crazy part of your life.

Right now I've almost figured out switching between bands and scanning.

Cool!

Figure out the PTT switch yet?
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Heh! Yeah, I saw it, but I haven't pushed it yet. I'm too worried I'm going to talk somewhere I'm not allowed, or do something stupid. Five years from now I'll look back and wonder how I could be such a [strike]novice[/strike] TARD.
:D

Ahem, I held a Novice License, some of my best friends were Novices. You, sir, are no Novice.
