Here's one I stumbled upon that might be of use to HTRN:

All of ours come in plastic boxes, thanx anyway!

Mine came in a plastic box too; it was just a much larger plastic box that took up more drawer space.
Anyway, saw this on Printables today:

I am not suggesting that anybody actually print this... A piece of plastic would be a stupid thing to go to jail over.

Re: 3D printing a gun
I find that I use my printers mostly for two purposes. The first is to make more printer parts, and the second is just basic organizational type of stuff. Here's a bunch of tools out of a cabinet, and into a space that wasn't otherwise usable for anything, and they are more accessible to boot:

Also making the stuff that is staying in said cabinet more sorted:

Currently dipping a toe into the Gridfinity pool... The max build size of the Voron is 300x300, and this grid is 294mm wide. I will need two of these for each of the hardware drawers I am going to convert over:

Re: 3D printing a gun

You can buy these for $17 plus shipping, but meh.... There's also one on Printables, but it's too small for the Streamlight HL-X I recently bought, so I made my own with a couple changes. I added some raised striations at the tab, and put counterbores at the bungee holes so the knots are below flush with the surface. Printed out of ABS on the Voron. I need to get a different mount before I can put this light on my rifle. When I get it up on Printables I will put the link here for anyone who's interested.

Found the following:

Going to try the 45 degree version to see if I like the positioning, and if so look for an aluminum version. Or not, if the printed one seems sufficiently durable.

So this printed out reasonably well, and I like the position of the light. Going to probably end up moving my hand stop back a little. I have no confidence in the durability though (it's kinda thin), so I am going to look for an aluminum one.

I am kind of tempted to troll this design contest with a third hole jig or a maglite end cap center jig....

Re: 3D printing a gun
Maybe closer to the thread title, my son's birthday is approaching, so I ordered a couple of hardware kits, and will be printing parts to build two of these:
