Single click? I'm betting on the starter. My F150 does that regularly. In my case, its a loose sender wire from the solenoid. Check all your connections downstream from the solenoid before you pull the starter, though. Might be a freebie fix.

it was either the starter or the solenoid, running now thanks guys.

It's a Ford. Single click is either the solenoid or the cable that goes to the starter.
You usually figure out it's the cable after you get the starter out and it tests good. Had that problem with an F-150. All I needed to do was take the power cable off the starter and clean it up with some emery cloth.
