My Canadian Friends

Post by arctictom »

In Whitehorse Yt , for their curling bonspiel, nice folks annual event for my team. Thought about you guys as we passed Tim Horton's donouts. I have noticed over the years very similar attitudes between Alaskans and the northern Canadians. Wonder if they would leave
Ottawa control.

I love curling, but haven't gotten onto the ice for a couple of years now because of the surgeries...

My local sport channel has bonspiels and briers on all the time...

It's surprising how tired you are after playing two full games...

Take a can of their (Tim's) coffee home with you, if not then try the different Nabob brands in the supermarkets...

Try a Canadian Nestle Chocolate Bar and the taste is totally different then the US one because of the cocoa being used...Same applies to American beer brewed in Canada, Budweiser US is much weaker then the Cdn version...

Wow. I'm sure you guys could have chosen a more ridiculous sport, but off the top of my head, I'm not sure what that would be.... ;)

Curling originated in Scotland, and like all Scottish sports, there was probably drinking involved. Let's face it, sober people don't come up with ideas like this.

HTRN, I would tell you that you are an evil fucker, but you probably get that a lot ~ Netpackrat

I think it's my ancestors' two national pastimes, drinking and throwing things. Caber Toss, anyone?

This sport is a hell of a lot of fun , yours truly is responsible for more foment between Ottawa and YT than most , and theirs nothing wrong with a bunch of conservative miners and folks drinking and trading stories in the great white north, creating trouble for their morons in the capitals. And sober people don't come up with these ideas :D
