Just got a (& cleaner) complete copy from the videographer of the Divine Miss M (daughter #2, 15 yrs) singing Jan 3 at her cousin's wedding. I'd posted a partial recording back in January...

Amazing! I was quite impressed! I hope you have insurance on her, for kidnapping too!
She has in incredible voice and seemed to be quite in control of it too, in tone and volume.
She could go places, and if she's not careful not necessarily the places she'd REALLY like to go. The industry is filled with cheats, liars, and swindlers - much like politics. They will promise her the MOON and make excuses when they can't deliver all the while trying to profit off her as much as possible.
I'm sure with her upbringing, it'll help keep her grounded, secure, and if she has any questions, will turn to those who she trusts has her best interest at heart.
And no, I don't feel the least bit of sorrow for those who upset or piss her off. They'll get what they deserve and the only time her dad will intervene is when/and IF she's unable to. I suspect she's a quite capable woman who can hold her own with a handgun, rifle, or shotgun, and is unafraid of anything with testicles.

standby for more fun. She just got cast as "Grace" in Annie (HS spring musical. The son&heir surprised everyone by trying out (and getting) cast along with her as "Rooster." Should be a hoot.

If she's not already taken some, please, please, please try and get her to take some voice lessons with a GOOD classical teacher. I grew up singing from early-early through college, and witnessed too many girls with good pipes screw them up by over-singing pop crap. Not saying she's over-singing there by any means, just that I've seen it happen too often to not say something. Even if she's not interested in classical stuff long-term, it is a very good foundation to have (breath control, intonation, vowel placement, etc, etc). I'd love to hear her in 3-5 years when her voice starts to 'fill out', you'll have to keep us posted!
All that said, very nice indeed! No small wonder you're proud! You have every right to be. I'm sure you already have one, but if not, a SxS shotgun might be a good investment in the near future...

she's been working with a voice coach since grade 8. This lady was highly recommended by close friend who alternates between Italy and US singing opera (and is on Catholic church payroll as regular sacred music soloist).

Wow! Justifiably proud papa.
I always cry at weddings, but I didn't expect to get misty watching a video.

Hey, I just got the weekly newsletter and I see two of the lead actors for the Spring musical have very familiar names.
Congratulations!
Also, [ahem], my daughter's name is on the school plaque for the Armerding award.

I remember the way
Our sainted mother
Would sit and croon us
Her lullaby
She'd say, kids, there's a place
That's like no other
You got to get there before you die
You don't get there
By playing from the rule book
You stack the aces
You load the dice
Mother dear
Oh, we know you're down there listening,
How can we follow
Your sweet Advice to...
Easy street
Easy street
Where you sleep till noon

Annie is the key

obtw, thanks. got the cash from you via Megs. Funny how sending a 10th grader to school with a couple boxes of 150gr bullets feels like a dance w/ zero tolerance policies.
