I'm back, sort of. Graduated BMT and am now in IP for tech school at Keesler AFB, borrowing a wingman's laptop. Not much to say about BMT I guess. Did okay, got some funny "we got yelled at" stories. I missed Expert on the M16 by one shot (42). :x

Now to find out what I've been missing!

Good job!! When will you be permitted to get a better shooting score (and make Expert)?

In Uncle Sam's Junior Birdman Club you are supposed to requalify every year, and can qualify expert at any point while in the service. It took me about 9 years, but I was noted for the wobbles due to poor balance.

Unless you're a maintainer. Maintainers don't get to so much as even look at rifles once tech school is done. I had the one day of shooting in BMT, one year where I was told by the maintenance OIC I couldn't requalify because our squadron's TDY rotation would require that I requalify overseas and that'd be bad, mmkay, one year where a new rule had come down from Langley that only SPs, CEs, EOD and officers were allowed to requalify due to an ammunition shortage (this is in 1994, mind you), and one year where I actually get to do what is required of me for once. Three months after I requalified, I started terminal leave because I was sick of my squadron's leadership deficit. I hope you don't wind up with that kind of insanity, Jericho.
