Some of you I know quite well, others not so much.

I posted quite regularly about my cancer battles for a while. You have probably noticed nothing for several (many) months. I had hoped for better news to post.

A bit over a month ago, we stopped chemo. It was not stopping the progression of the cancer. The cancer has grown and spread somewhat. Stopping the chemo also stopped adding poisons to my body and the side effects are slowly going away. We gave it our best shot, but got beat down anyway.

I am now on Hospice. I see a nurse 2 times a week at my house. I am on oxygen much if not most of the time. I use a nebulizer 2 to 4 times a day. Some of my meds have been stopped and others started. I am off all heart medicines. The goal of Hospice is to keep me as comfortable as possible and to continue with life as best we can. They are wonderful people. There are definite benefits to Hospice. The cost is covered by Medicare.

We are/have been dealing with final paperwork and getting my affairs in order. I have been disbursing many of my personal possessions to friends and relatives. And making a list for later distribution as well.

At this time there is no timeline estimate whatsoever. I am not physically able to do much, though the mental capacity is still all there. I just don’t have the strength or stamina to do anything. I am good for one trip, to one store and the post office a day. I can still drive. In fact, I went and picked up our repaired trailer yesterday. 60-mile round trip!

I cannot talk. Email or text message is the best way to communicate with me. If you call my phone and Kathi is around, she will answer it. If she is not around, I may pick up, but can only listen to you speak.

This post, like the others is an update of my condition. Not a solicitation for sympathy. Though kind thoughts and prayers are always appreciated.

At this time, it looks like my rendezvous and Friendship trips are over.
