I may have an opportunity in that area. Has anyone lived around there? Anything I should be aware of?

I have a friend who grew up about an hour south of Chicago, right on the edge of Cook County and not too far from the Indiana border.

I am told that part of Indiana is pretty bad.

This would be closer to MI, although I would likely live a bit a way from the towns as that is what I prefer (and do now). Also, the only Lutheran schools are near Valparaiso U. and I still have one child at home (.... and I am Lutheran, go figure) - So I would probably try to triangulate such to be within easy driving of both there and where I would work.
