MRI - possible bad results (update)results suck (update II)

The wife and I have a friend who is setting up an MRI lab. The lab has to do free imaging in order to prove calibration, protocol, etc as part of their certification process.

The wife went today to get a brain scan to help them with their brain certification. No medical reason, just helping a friend.

The scan came back with (probable) multiple lesions on the brain. She has an appointment at 8AM tomorrow with her oncologist to review the MRI as well as map out a plan from here. For those who don't know, she is a breast cancer survivor. This could possibly be metastasized to the brain. It may also be a congenital thing that has no effect ever on her life, or anything in between. No way to tell right now.

She is still in the shock stage of dealing with this news.

She would like prayers.

According to her:
The good news. If it does end up being cancer, she at least has insurance this time and a husband that won't throw her out.

This may turn out to be a small miracle, because whatever it is... you *know* about it.

Prayers sent.

At least it appears that, if it is anything, it was caught early. Which is key to successful treatment.

No, really, it's really about an 80% false positive. That's how limited our technology and understanding is.
Speaking of MRI's... Do they have a history of false negatives? My wife was in for one yesterday (high intracranial pressure indicated by retinal issues), and they said it came back negative. Do they often miss things?

Precision - Prayers sent. Send one up for my wife?

Thanks guys. She is appreciative of the prayers.

We are holding hope that it is something else. She had undiagnosed viral meningitus (quack said it was the flu til she pitched a fit and saw someone else) for A MONTH with all applicable brain swelling and the like. We are hoping it is related to that and not any big deal. Residual brain chafe marks. :D

She is looking at a PET scan and possibly a brain biopsy in the near future. Very much hoping against the brain biopsy.

The good news is her tumor markers have been great and they are checked (pretty sure) every 3 months .
