Forum Member Needs a Hand Up

All, one of our own is trying to make a go at making things with his hands to make money, unfortunately, he's at a point where he might lose his gas and electricity soon if he doesn't have any cash flow real quick, and without the gas and light, he can't make things to make money.

You can read about it here, and the short version is here:
Now for the bad news. I'm broke. I have two dollars left in my pocket. Which means I can't finish the box until I get a partial or full payment in advance. My internet will probably be turned off in the next couple of days. And possibly the electricity as well. I gave my direct contact information to Chris in case I do lose my internet. I will still have my cell phone. So if you are interested in getting a box made (or anything else made out of wood within reason) you can still contact me.

I really, really hate being in this predicament. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
He's got a PayPal account and his address is in the other post.

Let's help him out so he can get started and grow his business.

I'll be in with a bit next Thursday. Wish I could do it sooner, but I'm budgeted too tightly right now...

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the help. It's not easy expressing how much I appreciate what you have done, but it was great.

Well, the immediate need is over. The gubbermint finally replaced the missing check from the beginning of this month (only took them 24 days). The electricity is still on, I was able to renew my car insurance in time so that my license wasn't suspended, and I'll be able to keep the internet connected. Thank you all and happy holidays.

GREAT news Ray!! I apologize for not responding to your email, but I couldn't think of anything else our safe needs right now (besides more guns and ammo).

I've been talking to my wife about a few things and if we come up with something else for you to make, we'll be more than happy to send the work your way.

I wish we could do more to make your's a much happier holiday, but you don't exactly live right next door (we'd be more than happy to have you over for Christmas dinner). 8-)

Mike, Thank you. That is an extremely generous offer. Actually, things are easing up quite a bit. My daughter decided that if we were going to get out of this hole, the only way to do it was for her to dip into her inheritance money she got from her grandfather. She cashed in a $5,000 CD to help pay the bills, get a couple things for herself, and make sure that we have a nice Christmas. I guess I must have done something right when I raised her.

Now, if we could all just find jobs.

As for the range box, I ran into two problems. I ran out of supplies to finish the box until this week, and the weather has not cooperated at all. I mean, this is Florida! It's not supposed to get this cold until January! A couple of years ago, we had mid 80 degree weather right up until December 24th. Three weeks ago, the jet stream moved south bringing in cold, Canadian air, and it hasn't warmed up since. Which makes working with glue and paint in an unheated garage a real bitch. Oh well, Just a couple more finishing touches and it will be done.
