Today's My Anniversary!

Post by MarkD »

Nine years ago today I stood before God, minister, family and friends and married the most wonderful woman in the world, a woman I don't deserve but who I deeply and humbly appreciate. Tomorrow (Friday) we're spending the night at the same hotel where we spent our wedding night.

Interesting story: Early in the morning (maybe 3 am) after our wedding I was awakened by a far-off beeping noise (I'm a light sleeper), it didn't wake my new wife. I thought it was an alarm clock in the next room, but it didn't stop. I thought I heard voices too, also quite faint. I got up and went by the hotel room door, where the noises were louder but still faint. I cracked the door open and saw a fireman walk by, all suited up with helmet, coat, air tank, axe, etc. I woke my wife, then called the front desk who told me there was a fire and the hotel was being evacuated. The noise I heard was the fire alarm (nice to know it'll only wake a very light sleeper, huh?). We got dressed and went down the lobby, then returned to the room after everything was taken care of. To this day we joke that we set the hotel on fire on our wedding night.

Congradulations: That will be a good story to tell your kids "when they are older". My good wife and I celebrated our 41'st this year. I too am not worthy of her.

Contrats, and well done. Wish I had your skills.

None of my ex's were worthy of me, which shows that I am an idiot and am a poor chooser.

On a funnier note, both of my ex's eventually moved to Texas. One's in Houston, ones' in Austing. Yeah, yeah, I know...I gotta tell you that I NEVER expected to actually become a country song.

Congrats! I've been happily married 7 years. 7 out of 28 (on Dec 5) isn't bad. My wife will kill me one of these days for that joke.

Congratulations! The Boss and I celebrated the 19th or 47th or something this year in March... no, no, that was June... or July, maybe...

It's like an ongoing competition to see who can forget the anniversary the longest. One year it was three days past before either of us remembered it.
