Just a place for sharing your favorite drives...
For me, it was taking my 968 from town to the ranch... 22 miles of single lane road, just a paved over horse trail -- switchbacks, elevation changes, heavily cambered turns, a couple off camber carousels with elevation change, one at the crest of a steep half mile climb, that you could go deceptively fast through...

Colorado Hwy 550 from Ouray to Durango. It takes you through mountains that rival any in the world as well as through historic mining areas.
It is also considered one of the most dangerous highways in the world during the winter. I've gone over the 3 passes that are part of the drive an hour before they closed the road and I can tell you that there are many ways to die on that road in the winter. But it's beautiful if you can see more the 10 yds. in front of your vehicle. In the summer and fall it hard to describe.

June, 2006. I was in the UK in a rented Saab 9.3 Turbo. I spent 8 days hauling ass from the South of Wales, skirted past Livermoor and Glasgow, and up to the Isle of Skye, then north and East and over to Loch Ness, then straight South to Stonehenge and the Straights of Dover before getting my ass back up to Heathrow.
It was all done on A and B roads, with a minimum of time spent on the M's.
My favorite parts were North Central England (Lake District?) and the Scottish Highlands.
Absolutely the best driving experience of my life.

Beat me to it, great minds think alike. An interesting variation is to drive from Ouray to Durango, then over to near Cortez and take the road back up to Lizard Head pass, down to Telluride, then to Dallas Divide, and on to Ridgway. Trout Lake near the top of the pass, the Ophir turnoff, and the view of Mt. Sneffels near Dallas Divide will pop your eyes out.
ETA 10/28: Forgot to add, Ridgway to Ouray, about ten miles, completes the loop.

Not to hijack the thread, but here's a drive that didn't end so well: Ferrari Vs. Viper.

Driving up I-25 from El Paso to Billings, Montana. Going part of the way in November for my uncle's 80th birthday, celebrating in Casper, WY

It's a short drive, but it's a fun one. I-294/ I-355 from Lake-Cook Road in Palatine/Arlington Heights to Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove/Lisle, at about 2:30 on a Monday morning. I loved driving that stretch of road when there was no roadwork. It made me wish I had a better car, sure, but that's par for the course. Lake Shore Drive and I-94 at the same times are also pretty nice, too, especially when you've got a good view of Chicago's skyline.
Get rid of the Daleys and their crews, and we'd have something.

Concur with Chris on US-95 from I-80 to Hawthorne. Awesome desert views.
I confine the rest to NorCal:
Basically any small highway going over the Sierras. Especially CA-32, 36, 70, and 88, from US-99, East to US-395 or the Nevada border.
CA-1 and US-101 North from SF to the Oregon border.
CA-49 from Sonora to Auburn.
CA-193 from Placerville to Auburn, which crosses the Foresthill bridge, tallest in CA. Best if you have lots of horsepower, handling, and especially, brakes. Combined with 49, makes an incredible driving loop between Placerville and Auburn.
In the Bay Area:
CA-116 from Petaluma to CA-12.
Paradise Drive on the Tiburon Penisula. Incredible views of the bay. It's almost sensory overload. Best ten minutes you can have with your clothes on.

In Florida:
1) The overseas highway from Key Largo to Key West... and back again. The Atlantic on one side, the Gulf on the other. Just beautiful.
2) Hugging the Gulf coast along the Florida panhandle. Especally the leg from Pancea to Apalachicola.
Elsewhere:
1) The Natchez Trace, in Mississippi. A neat, little limited access senic road.
2) The North Coast road in the Madang Provence, Papua New Guinea. Great fun on a motorbike.

Blue Ridge Parkway, northern Virginia to western North Carolina, about 450 miles of scenery.
US Route 33 from Elkins Wv to Harrisonburg Va. Up hill down hill around the bend and back again.
