Thanks, pal! Kodiak, don't forget Kodiak. I also spent three months at the Naval Arcticarctictom wrote:Two tours in Adak , TWO , OK he can stay442nd Dinochrome wrote:Okay, I've been here since November and this is the first I've seen of this thread. Just finished

I'm Flintlock Tom's (slightly) older brother, retired from the Navy in 1990 as ETC after twenty-
one years and currently living in a deep hollow in the Heart of the Ozarks. In the Navy, I
served two years at NCS Kodiak, a year at NCS San Miguel in the P.I., two years at GEM NAS
Lemoore in California, a long tour on the USS Shasta, two tours at NSGA Adak, a tour on USS
Quapaw, and retired from NAF El Centro. Qualified on M14, 1911A1, and Remington 870.

Mountain Long-Rifles.
There was once a large collection of WW2 bolt-action rifles at my house; I tried to get ALL of
them but was stumped by the price of the '03 Springfield and the rarity of the uncut 1891
Carcano. I still have the Russian and Finnish Moisin-Nagants, the Czech '98 Mauser, the Type-
99 Arisaka, and the Italian Vetterli. The rifle that has been fired the most this year is the
1803 Harper's Ferry that I shoot at Rendezvous.
Tom led me over here. Previously, I've been undercover at some psychopolitical forums that
will remain nameless.
That's all, folks!

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Ok, I just saw this thread too. I was looking for something like this before I started posting and spouting but just found it now.
My name is Dawn. I am Precision's gun loving (soon to be totting) conservative girlfriend.
I am in the midst of a battle that will not be won with guns (dammit) or waged on foreign soil somewhere. I have Breast Cancer. The weapon's of choice are chemicals and radiation etc.
But the good news is.....the battle is already won, I just have to go through the exercises.
I am tolerating this invasion very well. I am not bed ridden or puking my guts out......occasionally tired and most definitely BALD right now. We are even managing to have fun with that......Precision get's to decide daily if he wants the blond gf (what I was before all this) the redhead gf (what I was as a child) or the brunette gf (his personal favorite).
I am halfway through my treatments and feel very blessed in many ways. In particular, I have wonderful support from Precision, friends and family.
I am a gun owner (albeit a new one) and I am looking forward to hunting in 2010 (once my chemo port is removed). I am politically a conservative. I have four wonderful children and a full, rich, long life that I am in the midst of.
I have been peripherally reading on here for a while as Precision has shared it with me. Recently, I found myself wanting to read what is being said on here independently, so I joined. I know......I must be sick
I hope to become a member of this consortium of intelligence, compassion/passion and friendship. I thank you in advance for your patience with this newbie

Congrats on your battle, welcome to the madness. You became a member with your first post. I gotta say that smile should be patented. Again, welcome to our band of brothers/sisters.
