Lucky girl. The 627 is my second favorite S&W, and is my avatar.
So what is your favorite?

I get jealous when Rod mentions Krags.

Most of my shooting is in the game of Cowboy Action Shooting. I live in California, for now, but one day I would like to return to Arizona, or go someplace where more sanity, and fewer people reside.
If you come to Rumpshot's Revenge I'll let you shoot my carbine.

Now that is just mean since I can't envision any way to get to Rumpshot this year! Just in case some of you don't know, the Krag is the smoothest bolt action military rifle America ever had and tied forever in my mind to Townsend Whelen a great sportsman and writer. Acquiring one has eluded me all these years.

I live in Kalifornimexico for the last 30+ years. I like guns and shooting. I like four wheel drive trucks and road trips. I work for a government agency,( 28 years at this place 30+ overall), plan on moving out of this commi state in 15 months.

This site is great and gald it was set up for the previous members and the new people that will no doubt come.

Hi all -

GoHskrs here (but y'all can call me GH ... 8^) Geographically confused, as you can see from the avatar. They can make me live in Buckeye country, but they can't make me change which college football team has my loyalty!

Short-term lurker on the GunThing fora; long-term KdT reader. As posted over there, we recently had a break-in and have decided to get serious about home security. SheHskrs (spousal unit, who also posted sparingly on GunThing) and I are now members of the local shootin' range, and SH has completed her Ohio CCW course there (I'm next, when funds allow). I see a lot of posters over here (including our host) who gave me great information about how to defend my property and family; belated thanks to you if you're in that category.

Oh, and once I start typing, it's hard to stop me ... 8^)

Howdy all.
I'm John and well.......I reside in central Utah.

I was a member (although not very talkative) of the other forum since the first year or so that it started.

I design houses, commercial buildings ext. for a living.
In my off time I play flight sims, shoot guns (of coarse) and take pictures. I can also be found in the mountains or desert & inside old mines with my assortment of sledge hammers, pry-bars, rock hammers & chisels collecting various rocks & minerals. I also do a little lapidary work turning some of those stones into jewelry. But when it's hot I like to escape up the canyon with my sluice box & pan for gold.

BTW. Thanks to Chris & the rest a ya for getting this forum off the ground. :D

Jeesh, I take a hiatus for a few months, and when I come back I have to go to totally different forum?

Oh, well.

So, for those who don't remember me, and for as long as I've been away I'd guess that's most, I was also Aaron on the old forum. Same old hobbies, reading seven to ten books a week, writing one about once a year (none published), collecting and shooting an odd collection of guns with emphasis on really old guns and the newest and neatest with little in between, still working out to try to join the greenie weenies (knee problems...more on that later), and recently added Krav Maga to the list.

I'm Sean. Still attending Oregon State University, for the 5th year now. Very minor collection of guns (i.e., seven), only one of which was designed fewer than 50 years ago.

Yep. I'm old fashioned.
