Hurray! Second opinions FTW!! (Wish I could tell you that sort of thing was rare, but I hate to lie...)
I can only dimly imagine what a load this must have lifted off of you now.
My continued best wishes and prayers are with you both.

I am glad to hear it... Truly hopeful!

On a related note, I know you were having some employment issues... Are the finances ok so that you two will not have to worry about the cost of travel to and from Miami if needed? I for one would be glad to chip in some gas/travel money if that is/will be needed.

Money is not going to be an issue (by definition). Dawn is going on Short Term disability starting Monday, then moving that up to Long Term Disability. She paid for them with post tax dollars so she will get 60% of her salary with no taxes removed. We have decided there is no point / end gain for me getting a classic 9-5 job. So money would be a little tight, but my parents have agreed to a pre-inheritence gifting of whatever I need. My parents are going to die with a large pile of cash. I am tapping into that now (when it is NEEDED) not waiting 20-30 years when it won't make a difference.

Dawn is going to take 6 months off, write a book that has been rattling around in her head (cancer related). She is considering melding an idea I've had with an idea she has. She wants to open a wellness center for cancer patients, I want to marry that with a healing center for combat vets that revolves around nature - my side would be around a large tract of land I may get donated and take combat vets hunting. Their spouses may enjoy hunting with them or enjoy the benefits of yoga, massage and the other parts of the cancer wellness center doing double duty. I plan on getting community involvement from the various attractions in the Greater Orlando area. So the guests have a vast array of things to choose from as they lose they themselves in two weeks of fun and joy.

This is something I have been working on for a while, but now we have the motivation, a compelling story and the time to do it.

We will see it we actually go there, but I think we may be opening two intertwined non-profit organizations. Building that will be my job. That and taking Dawn to Paris and keeping the doctors on track keeping her alive AND well.
