Is it in bad taste to ask a coworker if they carry in the office?

Guess it depends on the workplace. My response would be "I'll never tell".

My personal opinion is that it's poor taste to ask anyone anywhere unless they've made it clear or you're good friends and both gunnies.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Don't ask, don't tell.

Always assume everyone around you is armed. Since 99% of all people pose no immediate threat to you, don't worry about it.

For the other 1%, those that do pose an immediate threat if I'm in their vicinity, whether or not they have a firearm is a tactical consideration, not a determining factor as to whether I take action or not.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Seems like the ultimate in poor taste. And if you have to ask us, I think you already know the answer.
