Up date on my health

Post by Candyman »

As a lot of you know my doctor told me back in Aug. of 2006 that I had tonsil cancer and aftre all the treatments the cancer is gone.
The maine trouble I have been having is eating real food. Well back in May I had had had about enough with that PEG tube hanging out of my belly and had it pulled out.
I have been off pain meds since the end of May and did loose a little more weight, got down to 140. :?
Well I have been trying very hard to get things to go down and last weekend, for the first time in two years, I ate a Mcdonald's cheese burger. Woo Hoo!! and this weekend I ate a wapper jr with cheese. My kids thought it was so cool that I was able to sit down with them and eat a buger.
So things are getting better. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiven this year. :D

Amen! So I take it you were on the liquid "food" from '06 until now?

Candyman, I had no idea! That's awesome that you're fighting this, and winning. Good job!
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Let me know when you're ready for a roadtrip back to San Dog for carne asada at Robertos and a single bacon cheese at Hodad's in OB. I'll be buying. You can grab some of my old poles and your boys can fish off the public pier there.

I was on a 100% liquid dite fro a while. A round May or June of 07 I was able to eat very little, cream of weat and oatmeal were about the only things that I could eat at first. Every month that goes by I find it a little easire to eat things.
Meats are still the hardest thing for me to eat. That Wapper Jr. took me about 30 min. of non stop chewing to get it all down. Sometimes I get so tired when eating that I just can't chew my food any more.
I still drink a lot of Ensuer Plus every day.
As soon as I can eat better and get back to a good fighting weight, I'll get out of the Criminal records office and back on the streets where all the fun is.

Good news, Candyman, I had no idea that you were fighting this battle. Everytime you posted on-line you were always helping someone else. Giving advice with a stock repair or posting photos of gorgeous wood.
I take my hat off to you and will lift up a prayer that your healing will continue.

+1 to what Flintlock Tom said.

Congrats on the burgers. I hope you have MANY more to look forward too.
