Squib Load
A round of ammunition with too little or no powder in the case.
When fired, the bullet will move only a short distance and not exit the barrel of the firearm. This causes a dangerous situation if the bullet in far enough down the barrel to allow another round to be chambered behind it. In such a situation it will act as an obstruction to the second bullet when fired, probably resulting in a catastrophic failure of the firearm and injury to the shooter and any bystanders.
An excellent reason to pay attention to your firearm and to stop and check it if something (such as the sound of the last round fired) "doesn't seem right"
