Reloading Press
From GunCounter
Along with the reloading dies, the press is the most basic, fundamental tool of reloading. It is a precision machined instrument which multiplies the muscle energy applied by its operator, and directs that energy into forcing the case into the die, so that the die may perform its intended function. Afterwards, it extracts the case from the die, ready for the next stage of reloading, or as a finished round of ammunition.
The most basic type of press is the hand press, which is a portable unit designed to be operated without the benefit of being mounted to a workbench. Heavier duty, stationary press types include the turret press, single stage press, and progressive press. Each of these 3 types must be securely mounted to a heavy duty reloading bench, but will allow a much more efficient process than the hand press.
