Worst law enforcement executive branch?

Postby toad » Thu May 03, 2018 1:16 am

Well the FBI is getting a lot of bad ratings but it seems to me that NHS has gotten more than just rotten supervisors at the top but a whole bunch of twats who couldn't make it in the real world all through it. What agency do you nominate?

It's gotta be the ATF.

Apparently they aren't competent enough to figure out that people sawing of the barrels of their rifles on the internet on video violated the NFA.

...and provided gift-wrapped evidence of said felonies in the public arena for the world to see.

Another +1 for the ATF here.

Yeah. It doesn't take much to figure out whether or not someone illegally manufactured an SBR when said person is on video doing just that.

Having worked with BOTH in the past - based upon MY experiences, I'd say AFT (BATFE) is #1, and the FBI (Fumbling, Bumbing, Idiots) is #2!! But it's almost a tie!! I can't recall how many crime scenes the FBI had screwed up when I retired from the department - you would have thought they were rookie cops on their FIRST call outside of the academy while investigating an armed bank robbery call!! ARGH!! I can still recall the frustration and irritation when they came in with their "we're taking over" attitude and proceeded to screw up tons of evidence!!

Batfe has always had a rep as Keystone cops, i am surprised at the FBI being on the list. I have heard that the smaller, more focused deptmartments tend to be better, particularly the postal police.

ATF has long had a reputation for incompetence. The FBI used to be competent, but very political. Now they are incompetent, and even more political.

Neither agency should have firearms.

That's an excellent idea. Originally, the FBI agents weren't armed/they had to get permission... Kinda forget, but it went back to the Sheriff being the highest law enforcement authority in a county.

Well it looks like the BATF is "winning".
I wonder what would happen to it if they were told no more new hires?

I would much prefer they were told:

"No new hires and for the rest, get ready to be reassigned to another department of the federal government - or you can leave - the choice is your's, but the department of BATFE is being DISBANDED and COMPLETELY UNFUNDED. So even if you did NOTHING, you could stay in your UNFUNDED position and draw a ZERO paycheck along with ZERO benefits!! The choice is your's!!"

But then who's going to process NFA tax stamps?

That is easy, there will be no more NFA tax stamps to process.

I'm all for no more NFA tax stamps provided it comes with no more NFA.

Beat me to it - there'd be no more because they were deemed unnecessary & eliminated.

Did you know that Americans are still allowed to buy machine guns and saw off shotguns as long as they pay a tax? The National Firearms Act allowed these terrible weapons of war to be purchased by anyone as long as they pay a small transfer tax.
Please, for the children, write or call your congressman and tell them to repeal the National Firearms Act, today!

Yeah, why we are all dreaming about that, why not wish for something with a better chance of happening, like hitting the powerball?

Had that same idea about machine guns. Great coordinated wailing and gnashing of teeth about how the registry is closed and we need to address the issue of unregistered machine guns by opening it again. Figured with proper wording, hysteria, and "bipartisanship" endorsed by the eeeeeeevvvvviiiiiilllll gun lobby that might drop the price of a Thompson.

Of course if I hit the power ball I'll squander my fortune trying to make it happen.

Although the FBI has been lacking lately: https://hotair.com/archives/2018/05/14/ ... -shooting/

Ultimately, the FBI refused to say the shooter had a political motive, though it’s clear to everyone who was on the field that day that he did:
