Powder Dispensing..

Post by HTRN »

Been doing a fair bit of reading and watching utoob vids on this lately.

The Prometheus scale still strikes me as the ultimate setup for powder. The downside is the cost - over 5 grand if you want to buy it outright, or 3k+ if you're gonna do a lifetime "lease"

The Autotrickler works well, but I don't like the idea of it running on an app, the nature of it running on others equipment, and the ephemeral nature of said software, makes me leery of spending that kind of money on something that has to run on a tablet.

The FX-120 is still probably the best option for a super precion scale, not cheap at 750 bucks, but compared to some of the scales being used in prs, it's relatively cheap.

For those of you with a chargemaster, the soda straw mod, combined with manually trickling in the last few grains using a $100 dollar Danby powder trickler gives the best bang for your buck in terms of dispensing accuracy, going by one utoob vids I saw using the aforementioned fx120 scale to check against the chargemaster.

My budget is a little stretched for the FX-120 but the one second time is WAY faster than what I have.

I also had no idea about the straw technique on the Chargemaster. Might get one of those in the next year, so good info.

Just going to a chargemaster, and a Dandy trickler for the last few grains dramatically improves consistency, the FX-120i just allows you to verify it.
