She really can't use her badge to protect her for this... can she?

Tragedy.
She apparently worked a double shift handling high risk warrants. Tired our she went home and went to the wrong apartment.
Not excusing her. Just explaining. Imho that's second degree murder. I'd vote guilty on that.

I will be interested to see how all the cop suckers at one of the other forums I hang out at try to defend this.

I very seriously doubt she had any plans to kill an innocent person that day, but if I did the same thing I would get 2nd degree murder too. Don't do stupid stuff and all.

she walked into an apartment that wasn't hers and the first action prior to turning on a light was to ventilate the occupant. Hmmm. seems to me there is a thing about killing to save material goods. Even in her own home that is marginally suspect. In someone else's home, 2nd degree with a weak DA pleading it down to Manslaughter.

Tired, wired, or buzzed, the cop went to the wrong apartment and killed a man. She should go to trial just like everyone else. It's inexcusable.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

They have started at Manslaughter. It should be 2nd Degree Murder. I wonder how low they will let her plea?
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.
