Is "tornado" some new code word for "heavy rain"? Because I drove through that last night, and it more irritation than anything else..

Heavy rain with some trees down. Roads closed. Not a tornado by Oklahoma standards just like Sandy wasn't a hurricane by New Orleans standards.

What is it with tourists and being idiots?
Seriously, the stupid was strong with people today.
"Is there anything to do up here," the man asked after driving over 35 miles of empty prairie and farmland. I mean the complete and utter absence of anything except fences, cows, and wheat fields should have been your first clue.
I made up for the stupid by shutting the gate at 5:00 and having someone show up at 5:01.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Sandy was a category 3 hurricane, and at the time, the second costliest hurricane in US history.

Net, does it use a removable daggerboard, or does it have one of those short keels like you see on alot of trailerable sailboats?

Daggerboard is removable. D5 dinghy from Bateau.com if anybody wants to look at the plans. Actually, while I bought the printed plans, there is a PDF of the metric version that is a free download:

You know, if these assholes who want to ban things like straws and plastic bags were smart, they would do something that is actually useful and find some way to ban all of the $#%&^ direct mail offers, unsolicited offers for credit cards, insurance, and what have you. Consider all of the trees that died to print that shit, all the ink, the fossil fuels burned in transporting it all, the electricity burned by end users in shredding a lot of it, how much of it winds up in landfills, and the colossal waste of labor involved at every stage, they would be heroes to millions. But instead they have to go after things that actually make people's lives better, and prevent the spread of disease.

You do know that junk mail is the only thing keeping USPS afloat, right?
