How about 41 magnum downloaded to 41 special?
It starts with a 4 and isn't anemic. finding a 3" gun without going custom might be the issue

180 gr projectile at 1120 fps and 501 #/ft of energy -- max for 180 gr Which is 8.6 gr of Power Pistol
I imagine about 8 grains would run you 1000 fps and maybe 400 #/ft
200 gr projectile at 1200 fps and 639 # ft of energy -- max

Even found bullets that expand at 800-1100 fps

appears that S&W had a 3" magnum as a factory option for a while

My hands were doing a bunch better the last couple days. Shot my 38 super without issue.

I, usually, shoot 44 special out of a lightweight 44 mag. I have a 3” barrel 45 ACP, with magnaports , which isn’t too bad.

I picked up a S&W 43, which is a fun gun, and which I shoot rather well. When things get back to normal, I will see if S&Ws custom shop will put a 3” barrel on it.

Or buy a .40 S&W revolver. I had one I converted to 10mm and a couple of 610's before the big sell off.

Ruger has a GP100 in 44 special, in a 3 inch barrel...

I was thinking about those, before my issues. What I really want is a 45 colt...

You and me both. Love shooting .45LC, either from revolver or levergun. What a hoot!
