A producer of modular aluminum stocks down in Mississippah recently decided that an embedded level on the back of their stocks was a very proprietary part of the system and issued a statement this week that individual users of "unauthorized copies/patent infringements" were opening themselves up to lawsuits over it. Mind you, not just manufacturers who infringe, but regular Joes who do nothing more than buy the product.
While I have no intention of feeding the trolls with a link, here is the Reddit thread. It also appears that a patent lawyer has been trolling this guys FB page and giving out some IAAL advice on the move by the manufacturer. Comments are good reading.
