I think this is it. Only 38 cents per round.

I use http://www.slickguns.com and http://www.gun-deals.com to search for good prices.

I got 1000 rounds of Wolf Gold for $300 shipped last month. Like the other guys, I don't use any steel cased ammo in my ARs.

ETA: Here's a good deal on the Wolf Gold: http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/s ... o-can.html

$313 for 1000 rounds including shipping and a .50 can.

Haven't tried the 5.56 MEN myself, but it ought to be good stuff. I don't believe my one bad experience with their .308 is representative.

Dunno about their 5.56mm, but I picked up a 240 round battlepack of their 7.62x51mm at a recent fun show. Haven't gotten to the range yet to try it.

I prefer my 5.56mm NATO to have the NATO cross head stamp. Then it's all good.

Federal, caseheads are soft and primers get loose faster than other brands. Good for 1, maybe 2 reloads.

Any thoughts on PMC X-TAC GREEN TIP M855 NATO 62 GRAIN FULL METAL JACKET?
