Just what are they smoking at Verizon....

Post by BobbyK »

<rant>

I've got a customer, with a fairly simple telecom setup. 2 POTS lines, DSL, and a T-1 for voice.

He moved to new offices on Wednesday.

I put in the move order to Verizon over a month ago.

Where to begin....

They started by disconnecting the POTS *2 weeks ago*. The customer uses the POTS lines for faxing. Then they disconnected the DSL last Thursday.

The T-1 cutover, which should have taken 30 minutes max, as the new office is so close to the old that even my weak-ass arm could throw a baseball from one and hit the other, took 4 hours to complete.

And we've still got no freaking DSL.

The customer is a lawyer. I'm openly musing as to the possible effect of cross-connecting three phase power to the demarc.

Bleh.

I forgot to mention that 4 different techs were dispatched to connect the same POTS line. How the hell do these people stay in business?

same way the cable companies do it, they charge about 400% over cost for their services.
