Decent books on European Martial Arts?

The place to talk about knives, swords, edged weapons, sticks and impact weapons, restraints, and and the techniques and tools for preparedness and survival without firearms.

It is always good to defend yourself from the Knights of Ni.

Try looking for something on Savate or Canne. Bit more modern.

So, if we assume someone doesn't write insane techniques into a fighting manual - and given that a true threaded pommel doesn't seem to be in the archeological record - then what's being discussed isn't a conventional pommel... And, that an armored knight was expected to be intimidated by it would imply that there may be something in the pommel - even fine dust might be useful, but so would other substances.

I wasn't really trying to figure out the mystery. I fairly assumed it was non-serious as I didn't think there *was* anything other than a peened pommel at that point, but I know I could easily be mistaken.

I posted both videos purely for the puerile and somewhat absurd humor, thinking that it would be right up the alley of someone who entered the thread with a Monty Python reference.

And "end him rightly" is pretty catchy. ;)

I hope you enjoyed the videos. He does more serious stuff, he is indeed into weapons and is a student of historical European martial arts, but I like the humor too.

I guess it was too subtle.
