Brief field report: Cold Steel Finn Wolf

Post by Termite »

It kind of resembles a cross between a Mora knife and a steak knife.

How it performed:

I skinned and quartered 2 deer with it before it reached the point of needing the edge touched up. I ran it thru a small ceramic V-block sharpener like what comes with Fiskars or Rapala fillet knives, then stropped it on a piece of leather. That brought the edge back enough to skin and quarter another deer.

I realise it's not the best knife out there, but for less than $20 I'm satisfied. Satisfied enough to order a couple more. The Finn Wolf has been discontinued, but there are still a few dealers with some in stock. Oso Grande has a few left: Finn Wolf
