Lucky Gunner Memorial Day Blogger Shoot

Postby mekender » Tue Apr 26, 2011 7:37 pm

I am happy to say that I have confirmed my registration for the shoot... I will of course have tons of pics. Here is the speil about it from their site:

Why should you come:

#1: You will get to meet a bunch of other gun bloggers and all around cool people in the industry.
#2: You will get to shoot free ammo through a bunch of cool, Class III (including full-auto) weapons (and your own weapons as well).
#3: The first 30 registrants (not pre-registrants) will get free training from Tom Givens at Range Master. He will be teaching two tactical combat training courses (probably one handgun and one shotgun).

I've discovered some of the BEST people I've met (outside this august forum), have been members of the VFW (many of whom I've met out on the range). These are HARDY souls, not given to fright nor fear, and have no illusions about combat. These are folks who stand by their word, and are willing to defend what they believe in TO THE DEATH.

Do NOT discount them due to their age. Many of them have fighting spirits MUCH stronger and more powerful than many military members 1/2 their age (our last shoot had a 91-yr-old WWII Navy vet still killing clay pigeons!)!!

Not all the services are taught to use small arms effectively, and ANY ADDITIONAL training is ALWAYS beneficial. It brings a HUGE grin to my face EVERY TIME I read of a WWII vet taking down some turd because they thought he was an easy mark due to his age. I hope gun-educated elders are teaching differently (and WWII vets are kicking some butt!!)!!

I only hope the other vets take notice of the WWII vets being able to protect themselves, and start doing so themselves instead of asking the government to do it for them. The govt. CAN NOT protect you, they can only respond AFTER THE INCIDENT, and frequently AFTER IT'S ALL OVER.

Barack Odumbo CAN NOT protect you, nor can his government!! When you NEED help RIGHT NOW, the government is MINUTES away (might as well be HOURS). You MUST be able to protect yourself!!!
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

I am sure of it... There are probably only going to be about 30 people there...

Also, do you know Linoge?

Looks like we have a meetup that is not affiliated with the event on the friday before...

If anyone is interested in meeting up, let me know and I will pass along the details.

I've never met him, but we've emailed quite a bit. I'm actually working up a holster for his SSR that I'll deliver that weekend. There should be quite a bit of my leather floating around the crowd, actually.

Well, I am on site... Spent the evening chatting with a bunch of bloggers and then about 2 hours talking law and legal cases with the founder of Calguns... Apparently there are also tanks that will be at the range tomorrow!

The photos there are the ones they took, I am in the first slide shooting the F/A KRISS.

I took about 800 or so pics, I will start getting them uploaded soon.

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the rest of them.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
