If I had been creative enough, I probably would have gone with this costume when I was still in. The cans and bottles would be full though, at the beginning of the night anyways.

One of the things you learn quickly in the military is that seemingly silly rules exist because some clown did the thing in question.

I did some tdy at Fort Bliss last month. Part of the range safety brief was "Do not grill the wildlife."

They wouldn't tell us the story.

Looks like someone will be assigned to mop up the rain for the remainder of his time there.

I knew a SEAL chief who was de-sealed for shooting a deer running across the range. That was a long time ago though.

Did a TDY to Ft. Bliss back, probably, before you were born (back when it was also DLI/SW). That was part of the intro brief, even then. Nobody would say why it was one of the rules, it just was. Of course, back then, you could go to Juarez and not worry about anything more serious than getting your wallet lifted, or contracting a STD.
