NATO will pledge to defend Turkey, right up until the moment the Russian tanks cross the border. I'm not even sure how much that bothers me... With any luck, they'll drive straight through to Constantinople.

We barely had enough troops to take Iraq. Russia is weaker than we are, substantially. Their ground forces are a bit over half the total size (in personnel) of ours, and most of theirs are still conscripts that are effectively useless. I must be tired. I parsed this thread as "Russian jet shoots down turkey", and had an instant mental image of some MiG ace hunting down his Christmas dinner wildfowl with the onboard cannon...
