Panzer Ace Carius dies

Post by randy »

From Fox News

BERLIN – Otto Carius, a World War II German panzer ace credited with destroying more than 150 enemy tanks, mostly on the Eastern Front, has died at 92...Eventually promoted to 1st lieutenant, he was wounded multiple times and received several awards, including the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Oh yes, I should have mentioned this in my recent review of his book. In fact his death being announced on the War Thunder reddit was the reason I read the book in the first place. I don't have much to add other than it's intresting that unlike many other successful german officers he did not eventually join the West German military.

I'm reading his book right now, too.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.
