Downloadable in sections as PDF. Well there went my free time for a while!
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

That is an understatement, Section 1 covers Pearl Harbor Day to the end of August 1942 and spans 866 pages!

This whole collection is a post graduate level of information...

It looks to be the op status reports and journals so I expect those would be things that were sent upward to the president pretty regularly.

I think in both cases it says more about wanting to get the f--- out of BF, Texas circa 1910 than anything else.

I grew up in the same town as Nimitz - its a nice place, but deer/cattle/etc do heavily outnumber people.

I went to his museum in Fredricksbuurg during a trip in 2003. Great museum. Was talking to one of the docents and the story they told me was that they tried to get him to come back home for some dedication ceremony and he deferred, saying that when he left, he intended to never return.
