I'm hoping it's the echochamber effect... but you have a very frightening point. What better way to kick up the economy than an old-fashioned full-on shooting war?

The NK military is probably the only part of the country that does eat well.

How large is the well- fed section?

If we are being buttered up to take out NorK my tinfoil side would say its because China would like to be rid of them, and, as an added bonus, it might give them access to our military tech as "allies", and it would hurt S.K's industrial infrastructure, thus eliminating an economic rival to the ChiComs

I think china wants NOTK out of there, to put us on the spot about our pacific fleet. After all, it would be hard to justify our presence there once the threat is removed. we NEED NORKs being uppety to maintain our power in the region.

I don't know that China really wants us out of the Pacific. Politically, there's the whole, "Han are the master race" thing, but, traditionally, China doesn't care about the world outside of its borders.

Essentially, as long as there are Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese - either they will be at war with one another, or we can act as a buffer... But, if I thought the Chinese would like us to be reduced to some kind of vassal state, used to fight their wars for them, I would believe it.

2 CVNs cycling in and out of WesPas instead of 3.

Down to 10 from 11 with big E defueling & headed for de-comm.
Truman deployment delayed due to sequestration.
Roosevelt (CVN 71) undergoing 39-month Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH).

So.... maybe it's China using their proxy to test us and assert themselves in the region. Straining our forward lines at sea and reduced qty of carriers.
Showing allies in the region our reduced/strained ability to cover their 6 in a pinch.

Any of you .mil types know if they have arty munitions capable of delivering bio/chem heads?
bio/chem yes, wether their arty is 100% functional is debatable.
By my reading of the maps, only their bigger rockets could hit Seoul... Their arty is not close enough.

I think we have enough atrazine to kill off a few year's worth of grain production there.

Our dick is bigger, better trained, and better fed.
