as a life long resident of FL, i understand completely.

i also know that no amount of preparation can handle a cat 5 while you are at the shoreline...

From what I'm reading, it sounds like everyone involved has their shit way more together this time around. It hasn't been long enough for people to forget Katrina's lessons, which will make a huge difference.

I just found this video of Nagins press conference about the storm. Say what you will about the guy but he appears to have learned his lesson. That and Jindal is leaning on him pretty hard to not fuck it up. I may be being a bit melodramatic here but there may not be much of a Louisiana left in three days, much less a New Orleans.
