Of course he did. He also invented a company that sells "carbon credits" for the fools who feel guilty for living in the 21st century. And guess who he "buys" his carbon credits from......So did Al Gore invent the internet in order to debunk his own claims?

Today in history class we decided that carbon credits were the modern equivalent of the catholic indulgences. My professor actually said that he liked the comparison so much that he was going to write a book on the similarities between the two.The Quiet Man wrote:Of course he did. You might want to suggest to your professor that he should explore the whole global warming/climate change religious angle. The similarities are enough for a book...at least a small paper worth publishing. He could use the tie-in with the Catholic indulgences and the carbon credits as just one aspect.
Just a thought.....

Michael Crichton actually gave speeches on it before the senate and the UN. I have quoted them several times in papers in the past. The Quiet Man wrote:mekender -

Keep in mind that he does have a MD from Harvard.

my favorite part of the speech though..."Increasingly it seems facts aren't necessary, because the tenets of environmentalism are all about belief. It's about whether you are going to be a sinner, or saved. Whether you are going to be one of the people on the side of salvation, or on the side of doom. Whether you are going to be one of us, or one of them."
When I wrote Jurassic Park, I worried that people would reject the idea of creating a dinosaur as absurd. Nobody did, not even scientists. It was reported to me that a Harvard geneticist, one of the first to read the book, slammed it shut when he finished and announced, “It can be done!” Which was missing the point. Soon after, a Congressman announced he was introducing legislation to ban research leading to the creation of a dinosaur. I held my breath, but my hopes were dashed. Someone whispered in his ear that it couldn’t be done.
But even so, the belief lingers. Reporters would ask me, “When you were doing research on Jurassic Park, did you visit real biotech labs?” No, I said, why would I? They didn’t know how to make a dinosaur. And they don’t.

Haven't you guys read the memo? It's not Global Warming any more, it's Global Climate Change. That's an even better mantra, because it encompasses warming, cooling, stasis (a lack of change when there should be change), everything!
Global Climate Change is an AlGoreLeftistEnviroweenie wet dream because it allows you to rant about (and extort money against) EVERYTHING! Colder than normal winter? Oh My God, it's the dreaded GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE! Warmer than normal summer? Oh My God, it's the dreaded GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE! It's all Bush's fault! We need money, tons of it, to fight GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE!
I have a degree in geology. First day of the first class in Geology 101, Dr. Steinker told us that the earth's climate is constantly changing and one of the neatest things about geology is you can track that change through the geologic record.
Ever wonder why the majority of earth scientists never bought into the global warming bullshit? They looked at the available data, looked at the earth's history and saw what a first year geology student could figure out - the earth's climate is changing, has always been changing due to factors well beyond our control, and there is absolutely no hard evidence belching tailpipes and smokestacks have anything to do with it.
Some day, again, there will be glaciers covering Ohio and tropical rain forests in Central Texas. Ain't a damned thing we can do about it and it won't be because we burned one too many dead dinosaur.
