Portland Reavers

Post by Weetabix »

Scroll down to 7/12/20 - throwing fecal matter? Ingesting narcotics when confronted and going into convulsions?

Where do they find these people?

Apparently they're getting snatched up by feds in unmarked cars.

The irony here is lost on them...

Unless Trump has a request from the Mayor of Portland for assistance, he should keep us.fed.gov personnel out of Portland.

Besides the old argument (killed by Lincoln in his "Ultima Ratio Regnum") of separation of authority between local, state and federal government, here are a few more reasons:

1. By sending feds to Portland, Trump plays right into their childish games and gives them their "photo ops" (see? see? Big Orange Man hurt us poor peaceful protesters!)

2. The majority of people in Portland voted for the liberal idiots running the city; now they can reap what they sow. Lessons learned in blood are the ones most remembered; the longer they bleed, maybe they'll still remember when voting time comes in November.

3. As long as he stays out of Portland, Trump can tell the Mayor of Portland to go pound sand when he comes crying for federal "disaster aid" like Trump told the Mayor of Minneapolis. By sending us.fed.gov personnel to Portland, he has less ability to do that.

The flip side is, there is a long history of local Democrats using third party assets (was KKK, now antifa and BLM) to violate people's civil rights and the Fed's having to step into protect said civil rights.

Because ignoring a budding insurgency that has coopted local govt can't possibly bite us in the ass..

I think the lesson here is that Seattle eventually dealt with their own problem. Portland won't, so it will be dealt with for them.

The Federal police units in Portland are being deployed to protect the Federal courthouse and other Federal buildings. They're not on general riot control duty.

This. They appear to be only investigating Federal crimes and protecting Federal property, and otherwise respecting jurisdictional niceties.

unverified rumors of Feds there acting on pipe bomb type intel. Waiting to see if that gets some verifiable sourcing -- vs just grapevine from friends in the area
