Whipped dog bares his fangs

LTG Michael Flynn spent the last two years lying low like a whipped dog after his guilty plea deal to Mueller.

I didn't realize his legal counsel was Covington & Burling. That's Eric Holder's law firm. Talk about swamp creatures! I guess Flynn figured the old adage of "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" would work while he was trying to stay under-the-radar.

Now it looks like the gloves are off: https://saraacarter.com/flynn-hires-sid ... tch-again/

He's fired Covington & Burling and hired Sidney Powell, a junkyard dog who disguises herself behind tailored skirts and a charming Texas drawl.

This is the same junkyard dog that won a dogfight against Mueller's pet pit bull during the Arthur Anderson/Enron prosecution.

This should get interesting.

Powell has publicly said he should never have taken the plea iirc.

Sounds like Holder's law firm should never have taken the case.

Talk about an appearance of impropriety.

Any information that Covington & Burling has on Flynn's case is protected by Attorney-Client relationship. Also, any Covington & Burling attorney would be conflicted if called on by the opposition to work against Flynn.

One swamp creature taken off the chess board.

The firm can take the case, because there's a concept known as Chinese Wall, where the stuff the other attorneys shouldn't know is kept away from them by the attorney taking the conflicting case. Yes, as a legal ethics technique, that's pretty crappy.
Ultimately they have to list him as a client when they research other clients before they take them on as new clients, so, yes, yet another scum-sucking swamp dweller off the board.

Ultimately at great cost to the pawn Flynn, but that is chess. What was the Jack Ryan movie about the Rangers in South America? At the end the old corrupt guy says to (IIRC) Ryan, "Now you have something on those guys."

Wow!

Covington was Flynn's attorney representing his consulting company?! So Flynn's selection of Covington as his attorney defending him wasn't some "3D Chess" move, it was just that he was a business-noob who didn't know any other attorneys besides the ones working with his firm!
Conversely, Flynn maintains the while the FARA registration statements he signed included material false statements, he did not knowingly sign false statements. Rather, he provided truthful information to his Covington attorneys, trusted them to incorporate the relevant details in the FARA filing, and signed the statement without knowing it included false statements.
This should be fun!

I'd like to be there when the Covington lawyers get to explain to the judge how they "forgot" to mention that they were the lawyers who represented to Flynn that the FARA registration statements were OK to sign, then represented Flynn negotiating the plea agreement pinning the fault on Flynn.

Flynn's legal malpractice suit against Covington may be the smallest problem Covington has at this point.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving firm. :D

Sydney Powell: We Were Just Informed That Our Infallible Government Workers Supposedly Marked All of Strzok's Notes as From Plietka and Vice Versa
So Strzok, in written testimony, and in testimony under oath before Congress, is guilty of the same crime he accused Flynn.

Hollywood couldn't make up a more entertaining story!
