Loving this in San Dog. Good old entrepreneurial spirit and a bit of larceny (maybe).

Scooters and e-bike rentals littering the city. Never mind the mad scooter renters racing through pedestrians on the waterfront board walks and side walks. They get dropped at random all over the place -- often see run off into bushed or left in the water even.

Those things are littering the streets and sidewalks in Tempe. Almost drove over one laying in the street last week. If I was driving the F-150 instead of the mustang I wouldn't have swerverd.

I wouldn't want people leaving those things laying around either so I can't blame anyone.

easily fixed by the scooter company. make rental and return to a "bike rack" mandatory. Do so with GPS or even just RFID chipping of the "bike rack" and the scooter.

Charge the user $x.00 for rental and a $50.00 fee if they don't return it to a "bike rack". Then put up tons of bike racks at common destinations. Hippie douche destinations will probably even pay a small fee to host the bike racks. Think electric car charging stations in places that have TWO electric cars in the entire city. We have that here, in BFE Tennessee.

I knew about Lime scooters, but not about Bird.

Much like their namesake bird-lime, their idiocy traps pedestrians with a bunch of annoying, self-entitled riders.

Somewhere, someday, I'm going to name a character in something "Scooter Ransom."
