It happened in Chicago for one. Walmart pulled out even though they had 5000+ apply for jobs.skb12172 wrote:I'm reminded of two incidents regarding WalMart. The second was in the US. WalMart was going to open in the hood. During the negotiations with self-appointed, neighborhood representatives that didn't even live there, the shakedown commenced. Among the demands were a slush fund for tge negotiators. WalMart cancelled the store, thus infuriating the people who actually lived there. Oh well.
Then they got a Whole Foods (Whole Paycheck) instead, which most of the residents couldn't afford.
